About Hawaiian Language Immersion

The curriculum in a Hawaiian language immersion school is the same as a traditional school, however, it is taught in the Hawaiian language. While preserving the indigenous language of Hawai‘i, it also incorporates the history and culture of the Hawaiian people.

Hawaiian language immersion schools service children from pre-k through the twelfth grade. The first pre-school was founded in 1985 and in 2008 will be celebrating its tenth high school graduation.
