‘Aha Mele ‘O Ho‘omau is non-profit
organization made up of parents, family and teachers of children in Hawaiian language
immersion schools on the island of O‘ahu.
‘Aha Mele ‘O Ho‘omau also wishes
to gain visibility in the community, raise the Hawaiian language consciousness, escalate community support and to bring parents
and supporters of Hawaiian Language Immersion Schools to work together.
For over 10 years, ‘Aha Mele o Ho’omau, has organized an annual
fundraising concert which feature these brilliant children as well as popular local entertainers.
Funds raised from ‘Aha Mele ‘O
Ho‘omau are divided between all participating school to help purchase computers, books, art supplies as
well as other materials needed for the classroom as well as fund fieldtrips for the children.
In addition, it has also funded workshops for the teacher and parents in order to enhance their education to better
serve the students.
